Carolyn Barnette, Director of Collegiate and Single Adults

Started at Nall Avenue:  April 15, 2002

Family: Two amazing nieces.  Just ask me about them.

What I enjoy most about my ministry: as an unclaimed blessing (defined as one who has never married)  I know first hand the advantages and challenges of living single.  Having been involved in ministry to singles since 1988, my passion is to single adults realize that completeness can only come from a personal day-to-day relationship with Christ and that the time of singleness is a gift in which one can spend undistracted devotion to the Lord (1 Corinthians 7: 35)  Therefore I enjoy the opportunity to lovingly minister to people at any circumstance of life, discipling them in a relationship with Christ that is complete.

Favorite Book of the Bible:  Philippians

Favorite Scripture: Philippians 4: 13

In my spare time I like to: "What spare time?"

Favorite Food: Anything hot and spicy, particularly Cajun, Shrimp Gumbo and Dirty Rice or almost any Mexican food with jalapenos!

Lori Anderson, Director of Childhood Ministries

Member at Nall Avenue Since:  1996

What I enjoy most about Children's ministry:  Having a part in bringing a child, and possibly theior family, to a loving knowledge of Jesus Christ.  Getting the opportunity to build relationships with children and their parents.  Having fun and being silly!

Favorite Book of the Bible:  Psalms - The singer in me loves words of praise that can so easily be put to music.

Favorite Scripture:  While it is hard to choose one, I do love Philippians 4: 8, "Whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is commendable - if there is any moral excellence and if there is any praise - dwell on these things."

In my spare time I enjoy: Being outside playing with my family or working on a project.

Favorite Food: My Aunt Nadia's homemade chicken and noodles.

Joey Lang, Youth Minister

Educational Background: BS Degree in Religion from Liberty University, currently earning a MDiv. Degree in Collegiate Ministry at Midwest Baptist Theological Seminary.

What I enjoy most about Youth Ministry: I love the energy and enthusiasm of students. They are a dynamic force for the Kingdom of God.  My goal is to help students understand their places in Christ's service and equip them to fulfill all that God has given them to do.  And of course to have a lot of fun along the way!

Favorite Book of the Bible:  Actually, I have 66 favorite Books of the Bible.  But if I had to pick one it would be either Genesis of Matthew.  Or, maybe Daniel.  No wait, it's definitely Philippians. Wait!  I forgot John's stuff.  Um, yeah, I pretty much have 66.

Favorite Scripture: I don't really have a 'favorite' verse, but the text that sort of captures my burden for ministry is Matthew 9: 36-38.

In my spare time I like to: Spend time with my family, watch movies, play video games, and just hang out with friends.
