The Reason for Baptism
Jesus commanded us to be baptised and to baptise others.
"Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, Baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you, and lo, I am with you always, even to the ends of the age." Matthew 28: 19-20
When Should I be Baptised?
Anyone who believes that Jesus is the Son of God should be baptised.
As they were traveling down the road, they came to some water. The eunuch said, "Look, there's water! What would keep me from being baptized?" And Philip said, "If you believe with all your heart you may." And he replied, "I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son God." Then he ordered the chariot to stop, and both Philip and the eunuch went down into the water, and he baptized him. Acts 8: 36-38
When Should Children be Baptised?
At NABC, we believe that anyone who believes in Jesus on thier own understanding as saviour should be baptised. We believe that children should personally believe in Jesus before being baptised.
But when they believed Philip, as he proclaimed the good news about the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, both men and women were baptized. Acts 8:12
When Does NABC have Baptisms?
We typically have baptisms at the beginning of worship, either during the 8:00 or 10:15 sevice. This allows for you and the pastor to change after the baptism and particpate in the remaining worship service.
What Should I Wear?
Wear clothes that can get wet as you will be immersed in water. After your baptism, there are private bathrooms behind the sanctuary where you can dress. You will want to also bring a change of dry clothes and any personal items such as a brushes, makeup, etc.
